KeywordMigration, d’Aalam Wassef est une installation vidéo interactive. Elle est composée d’une trentaine de films et d’une plante virtuelle qui grandit à mesure que ses visiteurs la nourrissent de leurs contributions.
Dès leur réalisation, ces trente films ont entrepris une migration autonome sur Internet, grâce à leur dissémination par l’artiste dans les principaux moteurs de recherche du Web (Google, Youtube, del.icio.us, Flick’r, blogs).
Aujourd’hui, chacun de nous, où qu’il se trouve dans le monde, peut retrouver ces films en effectuant des recherches autour de mots-clefs familiers : “migrations”, “Dieppe”, “port”, “plantes” etc.
La particularité de ces films disséminés sur le Web consiste, d’une part, à pouvoir se dupliquer à l’infini pour se retrouver simultanément dans plusieurs sites; d’autre part, chacun de ces films vous reconduit à bon port, et en un clic, là où se trouve l’ensemble de l’œuvre KeywordMigration.

KeywordMigration, by Aalam Wassef is an interactive video installation. It shows a collection of 30 short movies in connection to a virtual TagPlant, programmed to grow as visitors “feed it” with their contributions and comments.
Since their inception, these shorts movies have taken on an independent migration on the Internet, thanks to their indexation and tagging by the artist, all over the Web (Google, Youtube, del.icio.us, Flick’r, blogs).
Web users all around the World, will stumble upon these short movies through keyword searches, such as “migrations”, “Dieppe”, “port”, “plants”, “migratory”, “Alexandria”, harbor”, … etc.
If these short films seem to be isolated and lost in the vast internet, each one has yet the ability to replicate itself and to proliferate ad infinitum. Moreover, one click on any of these videos is a one way ticket back home to the KeywordMigration ensemble.

Aalam Wassef, Egyptien, né en 1970, diplômé des Beaux-Arts. Depuis 1996, son travail mêle la musique, la vidéo, la photographie, la programmation informatique, la radio, la performance et les Reséaux Sociaux de l’Internet (Web Based Social Networks). Son travail photographique le plus récent, Black Wedding, à été exposé à Paris (Galerie Marie Watteau, Janvier 2007). Initialement Invité à la Biennale d’Art Contemporain de Dieppe (Juin-Septembre 2007), il est aussi invité à contribuer à l’exposition anniversaire You, the Century of the Consumer, pour les 10 ans du Zentrum für Kunst und Medientechnologie de Karslrühe en Allemagne (ZKM, Octobre-Décembre 2007 – commissariat d’exposition : Peter Weibel).
Aalam Wassef, Egyptian, born in Cairo in 1970. Fine Arts Graduate. Since 1996 his work has explored a variety of media such as music, radio, performance, video, photography, computer programming and Web Based Social Networks. His latest photography work Black Wedding has been presented in Paris, France (Galerie Marie Watteau, Jan 2007). Initally to participate in Dieppe’s Contemporary Art Biennale (June-September 2007), he is also invited to participate in You, the Century of the Consumer, for the 10th anniversary of the Zentrum für Kunst und Medientechnologie in Karslrühe, Germany (ZKM, October-December 2007 – Curator: Peter Weibel).
